Colne Gala 20th June

...

Colne & Nelson RUFC - The Lancashire All Blacks

Based in the heart of Pendle, Colne and Nelson Rugby Union Football Club is an amateur sports club, managed and administered by volunteers.

As a club sport Rugby Union is open to anyone from beginner to seasoned veteran. Our goal is to be able to offer children from the area the chance to fully participate in a team game. Rugby helps equip youngsters with invaluable life skills, whilst also providing great camaraderie and fun.

Find out why this game is loved the world over and why Rugby Union has been played at Colne & Nelson since 1927.

Thank You Paul Hesketh and Well Done - Its Really Appreciated from all at C&N

Colne and Nelson rugby club member Paul Hesketh has taken part in a Ironman triathlon in aid  of charity.  He managed to raise a £1000 which he has split between Colne and Nelson Rugby Club and the Blackburn Community Sports Club which helps people with cerebal palsy.

Whilst on a family holiday he took part in the race in Port Elizabeth South Africa which consisted  of a 2.4mile sea swim, followed by a 118mile bike ride and finally a marathon of 26.4 miles.  He completed the race in a time of 10hours and 50mins, finishing 200th out of over 1400 competitors who started the race.

It’s rugby with altitude on Pendle Hill!

MORE than 80 people battled wind and rain to climb Pendle Hill for a rugby match on Saturday.  Members of Colne and Nelson rugby club walked to the summit before players ranging from a two-year-old to a 70-year-old put on a display for spectators.  Goal posts could not be used because of strong winds so organisers used jumpers instead.  The walk up the hill was held to raise money for the junior section of the 80-year-old club.
